Old Photo Restoration
Repair faded, torn and damaged family photos, by hand
Old photographs fade, crack, tear and stain. We restore old photos by hand so the people in them look like themselves again. Every face is reviewed by a person before it reaches you, and we never invent details that weren't in the original.
What we can repair
Most family photos that reach us have lived in albums, shoeboxes and frames for decades. We repair damaged photos one at a time, including:
- Tears, creases and cracks across the print, including photos torn into pieces.
- Scratches, dust, spots and stains from years of handling.
- Fading and color shifts, such as yellowed, washed-out or low-contrast prints.
- Water damage and the marks it leaves behind.
- Small or soft images, which we carefully upscale so faces hold up when you save, share or print them.
Restoration is part of every package, together with period-accurate colorization. Cherished Memories, Family Story and Legacy also add natural, subtle animation.
What restoration can't do
We work from what is in your photograph. If part of a face is missing entirely, or the image is too blurred to show who someone was, we can't recover what isn't there, and we won't invent it. Tell us about the condition when you submit and we'll be honest about what's possible. If you're unsure, email a quick phone photo to loof@eevolver.com before you order.
How to scan or photograph your print
- Phone photos of prints are fine. Lay the print flat, in bright, even light, with no glare, and shoot straight on so the photo fills the frame.
- If you have a scanner, use it. A higher scan resolution gives us more detail to work with, especially for small prints.
- Take the print out of a glass frame or plastic sleeve first if you can do it safely; reflections hide detail.
- Upload JPG, PNG, HEIC or TIFF files, up to 15 MB each. Your original print never has to leave your home.
What you receive
Your restored photos are delivered as digital files you can save, share, print or pass down. A person reviews every face before delivery, and we start from the story you send us: who is in the photo, when it was taken and what matters most to you.
